Rechargeable 9V's in gear

Fellow guitar guys and gals, we all love the convenience of plugging in musical devices, but there are times when it is far more convenient to use batteries. And far more convenient for our lowly musician wages to use rechargeables.

So, what all brands of chargers and rechargeable 9-volts have you had the most success with using in your wireless mics, in-ear systems, wireless systems, and stompboxes?

I'm trying to find the cheapest and most reliable solutions. Looks like Tenergy (on Amazon.com) and Rayovac have had the most positive reviews.

Apologies for the crosspost, but I need answers fast!

SPIN Magazine Looking for International Correspondents

Hello!
My name is Patricia Wysopal and I am the International Correspondent Coordinator here at SPIN Magazine (www.spin.com) in San Francisco/ New York. We are looking for fun writers who are familiar with their local music scene and would be willing to regularly submit stories, photographs and videos from the following European cities.

*VIENNA
*PRAGUE
*BUDAPEST
*BUCHAREST
*WARSAW
*MOSCOW

I thought maybe you or someone you know would be interested in this amazing opportunity. SPIN is launching a new global program within the next few months and we are trying to recruit potential writers/photographers to contribute content. The submitted material will be moderated by regional editors, who will provide feedback and advice to the reporters. Although we won't have the infrastructure prepared for submissions until the end of the year, we'd like to have an idea of who's willing to contribute. We will be paying writers, photographers and videographers a small sum for their efforts. Opportunities will be available by the end of the year. If you're interested please send the following things to me at pwysopal@spin.com as soon as possible.

1) picture of yourself (for our International Correspondent Profiles)
2) short bio including your age, location, any writing/video/photography experience you have
3) description of your local music scene

Feel free to contact me anytime with questions. Thank you very much for your time!

****************
Patricia Wysopal
SPIN | International Correspondent Coordinator
pwysopal@spin.com
59 Grant Avenue
San Francisco, CA 94108
Office: 415.362.7797 x291
www.spin.com

Online lessons?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody has used any online guitar tutorials/teaching sites? Are they any good?

I play recreationally and would like to develop my skills a bit, so would like to hear of any experiences with online resources. I particularly love blues but also like classical fingerpicking and a bit of rock (sorry - *adopts gravelly voice* - RAWK!).

Would really appreciate some input from you lovely guitar peeps.

Word to your mothers!

x-posted

Session work Q's?

Hey guys and gals, fellow musician needing some advice here on session work and stuff:

1. I have the opportunity to record some bass tracks for a studio helping produce a possibly up-and-coming female artist. I don't know the exact details of how everything's going to down, but they want a ballpark idea of what I would charge for my tracks. I'm totally green to the business of session work, so I guess, what all do you suggest as a good way to determine rates to charge? Per song/per hour? What other factors should be involved? The studio is in the Chicago/Milwaukee area.

2. A not-too-close friend asked me to play guitar for her wedding, and asked me what I would charge for my playing. She said it would be anywhere from 5-6 instrumental songs, totalling 20-30 mins. max. I'd bring my amp, so it'll be pretty easy set up and low key. She's a friend, so I don't want to rip her off, but I don't want to seem too cheap either. Again, any ideas for rates in this case?

Any help would be much apppreciated! Sorry for the cross-posting, but I need feedback in all areas!

-D

GEARHEADS HELP!!! BBE 482i vs 362 Sonic Maximizer

Hello Everyone!

Im looking for someone who can help explain to me the difference of the BBE 482i as compared to the 362 Sonic Maximizer. Im having one of these bought in the near future and i really need help choosing one.

I just know that the 482i is a newer model plus it uses some sort of newer BBE technology. and it costs less than getting 2 sonic stomps. (Sonic Stomps cost 99$ times 2 whereas the BBE 482i is 179$) But at the same time. The 362 costs as much as the sonic stomp! and its stereo!

I looking to install/mount this under/inside my guitar pedalboard so any help would be great! Thanks so much for your opinions in advance!

I want to get these cause there are some instances when i need to be out on 2 channels!. Buying 2 sonic stomps doesnt seem practical if i can get a cheaper rackmount one that has better (?) specs.

I dont know! Please help! thanks!

Jorel

LINKS FOR YOUR REFERENCE

BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer

http://www.bbesound.com/products/maxim/482i.asp

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/BBE-482i-Sonic-Maximizer?sku=180913&src=3SOSWXXA

BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer

http://www.bbesound.com/products/maxim/362.asp

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/BBE-362-Sonic-Maximizer?sku=180910
